



Using WS_FTP
- FTP
- File Transfer Protocol. The Standard method of transferring files between
systems that are connected via a network.
- WS_FTP
- WS_FTP is a FTP program which allows Windows and Windows95 users with an
InterNeTT connection to download and upload files via FTP.
Setup
- Double Click on your Ws_ftp icon to execute the program
- Remove the text from the Profile Name text string box
- Enter "Your_Domain Name" into the Profile Name box
- Remove the text in the Host Name text string box
- Enter "Your_Domain Name.com" into the Host Name text string box
- Set the value of the Host Type box to "Automatic detect."
- remove the check mark in the Anonymous Login check box if one exists.
- Set the value of the User ID text string box to "Your user_id (same userid as your mail)".
- Set the value of the Password text string box to "your mail password".
- The other text string boxes and check boxes should be empty.
- Now click on the Save button to save the profile that you have
just created.
Your Session profile should now look like this:
Using Ftp
- Select the site that you wish to ftp to by clicking on the down arrow
to the right of the Profile Name text string box and clicking
on the profile name that you wish to use.
- Now that you have the Profile Name selected, click on the OK button.
This will connect you to the ftp server.
- You will now have a window which shows your LOCAL system in the left hand
column, and the SERVEWR or REMOTE system in the right hand column.
The operation of the directory trees on each system is similar to Windows
Explorer or File Manager.

- You switch directories by double-clicking in the top box in each column for
the local and remote systems.
- You select files by highlighting the files in the lower window.

- To Transfer a file from one system to the other, you highlight the file
on one side, and then click on the appropriate arrow between the columns
to copy the file to the other system.
The Local / Remote System window will look like this:
